Holy Saint Hazrat Fateh Ali Waisi R.A.(1820-1886 A.D.(1820-1886 A.D.) - the Pir and Guardian of Hazrat Sureswari r.a.

Life of Hazrat Syed Fateh Ali Waisi (RA) : 1820-1886 A.D.

Hazrat Syed Fateh Ali Waisi (RA) was born between 1820-23 AD in a village named Amir Bazar under Satkania Police Station of Chittagong District (in Bangladesh).

Father's Name : Hazrat Maulana Shah Sufi Syed Wares Ali (R.A.)

Mother's Name : Hazrat Hafeza Syeda Saida Khatoon (R.A.)

Hazrat Maulana Shah Sufi Syed Wares Ali (R.A.) was a disciple of Amirul Mumeenin Hazrat Shah Sufi Syed Ahmad Brelvi (R.A.) and joined Jihad under his command and was subsequently martyred at Balakot when his son Fateh Ali was still a child.

After the martyrdom of his father, his mother decided to migrate to Holy Makkah along with her young child Fateh Ali. But the ship carrying them sunk in the Hoogly River near Calcutta. She died but her young son Fateh Ali miraculously survived - it is said that Hazrat Khizir (A.S.) picked him from water and left him safely in a village on the bank of the river.

Both his father and mother were pious and educated. After the martyrdom his father and death of his mother, he recieved education from Haji Muhammad Mohsin Madrasa of Hoogly.

Then he performed oath of allegience (Bayat) to holy saint Hazrat Shah Sufi Noor Mohammad Nizampuri (RA) and became his spiritual disciple and subsequently his Viceroy. Hazrat Sufi Noor Mohammad Nizampuri (RA) was a disciple & Viceroy of the Commander of the Faithful Hazrat Syed Ahmad Brelvi Shaheed (RA).

For his livelihood he served as employee under several persons and offices, including Calcutta High Court, Nawab Shah Wajed Ali Saheb and Calcutta Political Pension Office.

By the Grace of Almighty Allah he became a highly pious and dignified saint blessed with frequent sipiritual communication with Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Sallallaho Alaihiwasallam. Thus he became known as "RASUL NOMA". He also had spiritual communication with Hazrat Wais Qarani (RA) and therefore was named " WAISI".

He had 2 sons and 2 daughters. Hs second son and second daughter died in early age. He assigned his eldest daughter Sufi Saint SYEDA ZOHORA KHATOON (RA) to be in his spiritual position and to become his chief Viceroy after his death.

He delegated Khelafat (Viceroyship) to his 35 most obedient disciples including Hazrat Syed Ahmed Ali @ Jan Sharif Shah Sureswari (RA).

His famous work in Persian "DIWAN-I-WAISI" was first published from Calcutta in 1898. It contains 23 Quasida and 179 Gazals. 10 of its Gazals were included in the Higher Secondary Persian Syllabus of Calcutta University in 1973.

He passed away to the Almighty Allah in the year 1886 AD, vide 1293 Bengali Year and 1308 Hijri Year on the 8th Rabiul Awwal, 20th Aghrahayan, Sunday at 4 pm.
